NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners represented an oil exploration and extraction enterprise carrying out its activities in Lithuania in regard to the acknowledgement of a decision passed by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration and permission to enforce the decision in Lithuania. The ICC court awarded the company approximately 12.5 million US dollars at 6 percent annual interest.
In the administrative court system, NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners represented a Lithuanian enterprise in contesting decisions passed by the Šiauliai Territorial Customs Office regarding the recovery of default interest. The Constitution Court of the Republic of Lithuania, which was applied to at the request of NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners, recognized the contested norms of the Law on Customs of the Republic of Lithuania and the Law on Tax Administration of the Republic of Lithuania as partially contradicting the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania.
In the administrative court system, NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners represented a group of members of the Vilnius City Council who were contesting resolutions passed by the Council expressing disapproval of the dismissal of the mayor of Vilnius.
In the Court of Appeals of Lithuania and in the Supreme Court of Lithuania, advocates of NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners successfully represented an enterprise registered in Cyprus. The court ruling recognized and permitted the enforcement in Lithuania of a decision passed by the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). According to this decision, the Kaliningrad district of Russia was required to pay approximately 23 million US dollars.

NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners represented interests of a legal entity in Vilnius District Administrative Court in the case against VĮ “Registrų centras” (the State Enterprise Centre of Registers) in regard to the alteration (revision) of the tax value of real estate. Upon the enforcement of the order of the Minister of Finance under which documents for the assessment of real estate using mass appraisal method were approved, a value exceeding the amount of 21 million litas for the real estate owned by a legal entity was determined. After the successful representation of NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners, VĮ “Registrų centras” revised the tax value of the real estate owned by the legal entity and reduced it by almost one-half to 12 million litas.
Advocates of NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners were some of the first to prove, by way of judicial proceedings, the liability of shareholders for their deliberate, unfair actions in the management of an enterprise. As a result of this case, the shareholders of the enterprise were ordered to pay 1.2 million litas to cover the losses incurred.
NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners represented a company engaged in the trade of agricultural production in the Tax Disputes Commission and the Supreme Administrative Court when the State Tax Inspectorate (STI) intended to impose a fine of 6.5 million litas on the company for the failure to keep proper accounting records for a business deal that supposedly took place. NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners, during tax disputes in the Tax Disputes Commission and the Supreme Administrative Court, managed to prove that the fine was unlawfully imposed upon the company.
NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners represented a foreign capital enterprise, upon which the State Tax Inspectorate (STI), after adding up the joint income (about 4.5 million litas) of the company and its sole shareholder and director, an entrepreneur who was carrying out his personal business activities and was registered in a concessional (preferential) tax zone, imposed charges, penalties, and default interest in the amount of 2.5 million litas. NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners defended the client’s interests in the Tax Disputes Commission, which acknowledged that the income that was earned by the company’s manager, as an entrepreneur registered as doing business abroad, could not be considered part of the revenue of the enterprise, and therefore additional taxes were groundlessly imposed.
Advocates of NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners successfully represented the interests of a Swiss investor in the preparation and coordination of the transaction for acquisition of a Kaunas-based company specialising in electricity. The total price of the shares transferred in the transaction exceeded the amount of 8 million litas.
NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners drafted and coordinated a grand transaction on the acquisition of an enterprise of fish processing in western Lithuania. The sum of the transaction exceeded 2.6 million litas.
NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners represented a large Lithuanian gas enterprise in favour of which the court passed a ruling for application of interim security measures — by appointing a temporary property receiver (administrator) of the largest energy plant in Kaunas.
NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners represented a Lithuanian gas distribution enterprise in Vilnius District Administrative Court, which — in its final decision — annulled a resolution of the Lithuanian National Regulatory Commission for Prices and Energy, which had refused to issue the applicant a license for natural gas distribution.
NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners represented a Kaunas-based company engaged in the trade of automobile spare parts by recognizing the decision of the Lithuanian Army Public Procurement Commission regarding a winner of a public procurement tender announced by the Lithuanian Army as invalid. Later, NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners reached the conclusion that the purchase-sale agreement (~1 million litas) concluded by the Lithuanian Army and the unlawful tender winner would be recognized as null and void.
NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners drafted and prepared agreements and procedural documents and coordinated the actions necessary for an enterprise to recover from an insolvent construction company an amount exceeding 3.5 million litas. The claims of the enterprise were fully satisfied.
NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners defended the interests of a foreign individual when solving issues related to recovery of this person’s investments made in a Lithuanian enterprise. Under the threat of the insolvency of the enterprise, the Firm drafted and prepared agreements about taking over the management of the enterprise and transferring the enterprise and credit claims.
NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners represented one of the spouses in a case pertaining to the termination of a marriage. The Firm represented the client in negotiations for distribution of property exceeding the amount of 20 million litas and also represented its client in the compulsory enforcement procedure of the decision passed by the court. The court rejected all the claims filed by the other spouse.
NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners represented one of the spouses in a case regarding living apart (separation). The object of the dispute in this case was shares in a business enterprises group and the possibility to participate in the management of the enterprises. Under the court decision, property exceeding the amount of 4 million litas and the ownership right to the shares held in the group were awarded to the spouse represented by the Firm.
